Criminal Minds SPOILER

Today we learned that AJ Cook will be back for one episode which was a great news until it was confirmed that Paget Brewset who play Emily Prentiss will be leaving Criminal Minds. This is a very sad news. Prentiss is a great character who is a professional, competent agent with a smart and snarky sense of humour.

This sad news make me fear for my favorite TV show.

I started watching Criminal Minds and still do, not because of the unsubs, the creepy stories, but first for SSA Aaron Hotchner played by Thomas Gibson and then for the team. The first episode I saw was S3 'About Face' and fell in love with CM. CM came at a time in my life where everything was bad. I had health issues and I was taking care of both my parents who were dying from cancer. CM was a great diversion. I join message boards, mailing lists, would do chats with the cast, crew and writers of Criminal Minds. I was lucky enough to go to L.A and visit the set for a whole day and got to meet everyone of the cast except for AJ Cook and Shemar Moore who had both prior engagements. I had a great time and will remember that day foreever! What more, CM brough me are some great friendship, people I get to visit once a year, people I chat with every night, people who have become great friends with ( yes, I'm talking about you, Laura, Lori, Kirst, Lea, Kris, Ann, Keren,Walburga, Suz).

I have become a big CM fan, I write about it in this blog and some other blogs, I write CM fanfiction, I love to twitter about it with other fans even if I don't always agree with others opinion, I still love to talk about it.

But these days all this is getting to be difficult to do. Why? Because CBS and the CM Producers have decided before the start of the season to thinker with CM. They decided to make some cast changes not for the benefit of CM but for its upcoming spin off ( Nina Tassler as admitted this at the recent TCA). As a result, we lost JJ ( played by AJ Cook), we gain a good actress in Rachel Nichols but the character she play, FBI cadet Ashley Seaver, is a ill conceived character. We lost some good writers ( not in season 6 but at the start of season 5) this affected the characters development, the team and the family sense that the BAU team had. Now CM has more episodes focusing on the unsubs so much so that the main cast just get shoved into the background. CM which was always a show about a team of profilers is now too often a one man show, that man being SSA Derek Morgan. A Morgan centric episode a year would be great, to know more about the characters is why I keep coming back despite CM violence and gore, These days we don't have those, we only have the same character being at the center of everything making fans of the other characters ( Hotch, Reid, Rossi, Prentiss) being frustrated week after week at how our favorite characters get ignored.

All this makes me fear for CM future. I hope the CM producers will read what fans have to say, I hope they will visit blogs, tv sites, twitter, read fans comments and make changes for S7 because if they don't, S7 will be my last and with what I have been reading it will be CM last season. That would be a shame for a show that was until S6, the best TV show on TV.

thanks for taking the time to read my ramblings :)

The Best New Show of 2010

Was it The Event? Hawaii 5-0? Lone Star? Blue Blood? No Ordinary Family? No, the best new show was AMC The Walking Dead!

I never liked AMC Mad Men, I find it boring and yes I am immune to Jon Hamm appeal! I approached The Walking Dead with reluctance but the show got me hooked after 15 minutes! I usually can get into a new show by way of caring for one of the character, with Criminal Minds that is SSA Aaron Hotchner, wanting to know what will happen to said character will make me want to turn in every week. This isn't the case with The walking Dead, I watch to know what will happen next to the group, how they will survive the zombies, why most of the population was turn into zombies, why some were not. I couldn't care less who gets killed in upcoming episodes; I just want action with the zombies!

I don't take the show too seriously, for me it is all good fun, nothing deep. The show remind me of horrors movies I would rent every Friday nights as a teen and make my little brother watch even if I knew he wasn't suppose too!

I loved the first season and hope season 2 will be as good as the first season. I highly recommend it!

Here is a preview with hints to season two of The Walking Dead!

TV News

Hey been a while since I updated my Blog, so let's do that now!

First, I read that Enrique Murciano of Without a Trace fame will NOT join the cast of the new ABC show Off The Map as it was first reported. Too bad, I like Enrique and was looking foreward to this new show. I will watch the first episode this Wednesday at 10:00pm and will see if i like it enough to continue watching. BTW Enrique will be in the series final of Medium on Friday Jan 19 2011 on CBS!

Other TV News, A.J Cook of Criminal Minds fame will be on Law & Order: SVU on Wednesday Jan 12 2011! I normaly would watch the recently moved Blue Blood but I want to give some support to AJ so I will record Blue Blood and watch SVU live! Come on Criminal Minds fans, let's show CBS they made a mistake when they did let go of A.J! You can watch a preview to A.J episode here!

Blue Blood is moved to Wednesday 10:00pm for the next four weeks. CBS wants to see if the ratings would be as good or even better with a better lead in and on a night were more younger people watch TV. I don't think it will do better demo wise. This show is really old fashioned, plus it isn't compatible with the very dark and creepy Criminal Minds.

Speaking of Criminal Minds, the Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior ( don't like the name but better than CM 2) will start its run after Criminal Minds on Feb 16 2011 at 10:00pm. I may love Criminal Minds but I will not be watching the spin off. I have seen the backdoor pilot on Criminal Minds and hated it with a passion! The episode was a big let down. Too many improbable things, since when do the BAU have a team working outside the FBI? How can an ex-con be a FBI agent? How can a British agent be in the FBI? This show sound more like something made to appeal to people who like NCIS and NCIS: LA but with a darker feel. Thanks but no thanks CBS!
